What do you think about being sacked for being too intelligent and creative, one thing I have to say is that its surely a creative and intelligent way to attract attention to yourself when starting a new business!
Now I can’t really comment on the merit of either the claim or the defence in this article, that’s truly a matter for the courts to determine. Controversy is a starting point in gaining traction in the interesting stakes, a necessity to crack through the filters we either put up ourselves or exist by default in the digital realm. A far better approach and one you often see in my posts is to take a contrarian viewpoint and quickly move away from the element of controversy to make a valued comment on the topic that you really want to talk about. Controversy in and of itself has a limited shelf life and soon disappears into obscurity if played too often. Look at Paris Hilton for example, a brilliant marketing strategy to attract attention but without a doubt in the long term unlikely to be able to maintain market presence. I may be wrong on that one and I truly hope so, we need characters in the world and Paris is certainly one.

It is far from the usual sort of complaint a junior lawyer files against a law firm.
New York City lawyer Gregory Berry has sued his former firm for more than $75 million, claiming the firm fired him for exhibiting intelligence and creativity.
Here’s a copy of the suit against powerhouse firm Kasowitz Benson Torres & Friedman and here’s a Reuters article about the suit…..
